Quick Quote: Type Make Model

"I just wanted to tell you how helpful Rebecca has been in assisting me with the purchase of a new 2008 Jayco class C motorhome from RVDirect. I first spoke with Rebecca about the first of March, and explained to her that my wife and I have been buying a new motorhome (mostly Itasca 31' Cs) at the first of each model year and then selling it at the end of the year and buying another. This time we decided to change to a Jayco and RVDirect because of price. Rebecca very pleasantly answered a long list of questions and request. She answered all the questions and emailed pictures of the new interior fabrics in assisting us in our decision. You simply could not have ask for any one to have been more pleasant and patient. One day when Rebecca was off and I spoke with Jim and he likewise was very helpful. I just wanted you to know how pleased we have been so far with our decision to purchase from RVDirect."

"We shopped everywhere and went to every show for a year. We could just tell salespeople were trying to make as much money on us as possible. I wanted to get the best price for the product I choose and RV direct did that for me. Compared to our other price quotes, the deal I got saved me $7,891. That’s a lot of money. And the unit was built specificly for me."

"I called rvdirect on a Saturday night last week. I knew their hours said they were closed, but I was hoping to get someone. I did. After asking just about every question under the sun and keeping the man on the phone for almost an hour I told him how thankful I was he spent the time with me and joked with him saying his boss need to “give him a raise for staying so late after hours on a Saturday”. He laughed and said “I don’t think my wife will give me one.” I was impressed, the owner, Don Strollo had spent his Saturday evening talking to me on the phone. I know rvdirect is a big company, but when the owner takes the time to talk to customers, answers the phone after hours and is as involved and concerned about every detail as he was, I’d be hard pressed to buy anywhere else. I plan on ordering the a New Coachmen Concord Class B camper van just after Thanksgiving."

We wanted to write a letter to compliment you on your customer service. We have been dealing with Ken Barnes, and he is one of the best salesmen we have ever had the pleasure of speaking with. He has made this purchase of a new motor home both enjoyable and easy.

Sandy in your finance department has also been a very big help. She worked really hard in getting us the best interest rate.

What a great staff of people you have working for you. Please, keep up the good work. We have been telling all of our friends about your business and what a pleasure it was in doing business with you.

Once again, thank you.

Sincerely,

We purchased our First new Jayco through RVDirect. I checked all the local dealers in my area, and I was looking at a little over $20,000 with all the options I wanted. I was able to get a Firm price from RVDirect within moments that almost blew me away. I went to the local dealers trying to buy it locally; I also went to a couple of RV Shows in September, January, & February. It was after all that time shopping that I decided on RVDirect. Their price was the best. I could custom order it, have it delivered to me if I wanted, with the exact options I wanted, and not get stuck with options I didn’t want, or not get options that I really wanted. And to top it off Sandy was Great to work with.

She walked me through the ordering process, and if there were any questions she was always there with the answers. If they were not in front of her, she would get back to me within hours.

We ended up seeing a Floorplan we liked even better in September 2003, It was a Jayco Eagle 298BHS. We decided to sell the 2003 Jayco by private sale. I researched the price through Nadaguides.com and came up with what I thought was a good Selling price with some wiggle room. I priced it a couple of thousand more than what I paid for it, and more in line with what the Local dealers would be asking. We ended up selling it for a little over $1500.00 more than what we had paid RVDirect for it.

Needless to say, I ordered my 2nd New Jayco Eagle 298BHS through Sandy in January 2004, and picked it up on April 19, 2004. I was her first Repeat customer, but I am sure she will have many more. The buying process went just liked last time Great!! Jayco had an option change in February, and Sandy was able to add it on without any problem. I met Don Strollo after doing the Walk through process. He was great to talk to, and made me feel like family.

Everyone I have talked to, and had dealings with have been great. From Sales to Service, if any problems or questions come up, I feel great knowing they will be right there with the answers or solutions. I know that when it comes time to upgrade again. Sandy at Rvdirect.com is who I will be calling.

I picked up my Georgie Boy Cruise Master last week from the prep facility in Elkhart, IN.

The folks at RVDirect (Albany RV) were great to work with. It's a small crew, but that's the benefit of being an internet sales channel.

I worked with Eric (sales), Sandy (admin and financing) and Don (manager). I would buy from them again.

The folks at the prep facility were also great to work with. They do the PDI in Elkhart, and I had a chance to sit down with the owners while they finished the PDI and corrected a few issues from the factory. They were busy, but took their time and responded to all of my requests.

No catch whatsoever. Smoothest sale and nicest peple to work with back there in Albany, NY. I just bought a 36' Jayco Designer from them. I picked up at the prep facility in Elkhart, Ind. on 3-22 and have been very happy ever since. They're the real deal.

We got home yesterday after our trip out to Indiana to pick up our new 5ver. 1750 miles of driving, 900
of it towing.

The RVDirect deal went smoothly. The prep facility, was very good and everything was as promised
when we arrived. The folks at the prep facility were very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. The walkthrough went
fine. They did a complete PDI with me and were very helpful as I did some additional checks I read about
here on RVNet. When we signed the paperwork they showed me a list of the items they had already caught
and corrected. All were reletively minor, but several things I probably would have missed (eg. stove not
level). The prep facility told me that the Jaycos they prep are good quality (compared to other brands they prep
too) and that Jayco is very responsive to them.

After we finished we went over and saw the Jayco factory tour. I was favorably impressed.

After 3 days of towing, I'm feeling more comfortable driving with the 5ver. Once I got confident that it
would follow me, I stopped checking the 5ver in the mirrors and began to drive the truck and check
traffic in the mirrors. I relaxed a bit and the drive was fine. We had one tense hour in Ohio... it began
to snow and I was not sure if it was going to ice up or not. I never lost any traction, but I was sure
getting tense. Then, just into PA, the sky cleared and the roads were dry again.

I received a lot of private messages on our upcoming dealings with RVDirect.com. Now that we have
picked up our 2004 Jayco Granite Ridge 3100SS from them and driven it home 2100 miles, all I can
say is AWESOME.

From day one Eric was extremely helpful in answering our questions. I really liked that once we
hammered out some details I was able to get the actual "out the door" price and it never wavered.

The financing was very competitive and done without any pain.
All the paperwork was in order before we went in and picked it up.
The prep place and the actual place we picked it up from in Indiana was awesome. They
had done the PDI before we arrived and went through everything to make sure everything was in
good working order. It was almost perfect, we did find 1 item that needed some adjusting that was
taken care of immediately (and trust me we tried hard to find something because things had gone
too smoothly if you know what I mean).
After the final pieces of paperwork were taken care of, we were on our way.
We drove 211 miles in three days, great shakedown. Only 2 items that need to be fixed, and we can
do it ourselves (2 screws that came loose).
This was truly the easiest "large" purchase we ever made. Yes, it was scary, we did our research
and with a little leap of faith the transaction went through without a hitch.
Hopefully we don't have to buy a new motorhome for a long long long time, but if we do we are
definitely going back to RVDirect!!!!

The only hurdle we have is to smog the motorhome and get it registered in California. We have our
appointment next week for that. So all-in-all no problems, we highly recommend RVDirect.com
without any qualms!!!

RVDirect.com Rocks!!!!!!!!

-Stacy, 2004 Jayco Granite Ridge 3100SS and it's finally sitting in our driveway!

Thanks for the great service, as always.
You guys are awesome!

I purchased my 2003 Jayco 305 from Albany RV. I was very pleased with the price I received on the 305 and was very surprised that it was actually as quoted on the web. They can email you a price sheet for the options.

There are 2 Forest River dealers about 100 miles from us in Northern California. Both dealers are the slimy types. One quoted MSRP plus a bunch of bogus markup fees like $550 prep fees. Their discounted price comes to about 8K (on a 23K TT) more than the internet price at RVdirect. I know I could bargain them down but why bother if they set their price so high to start with. The other dealer says they can order one but has no idea how long it would take to get one because they just 'signed up' with Forest River. I live in a small town in Northern California. It's much more convenient to deal with internet sales than to driving over 100 mi.
Albany RV is very pleasant and responsive.

Buying a motor home is a big investment, and the last thing I want to do is pay more than absolutely necessary, not only in terms of purchase price, but also in terms of add-on costs and interest charges.

During “feeler” discussions, these folks rose instantly to the top, and I mean instantly. It is no exaggeration to say that absolutely no one compared in terms of bottom-line price and lowest-rate financing.

The entire process was no pressure, the people knew the product very well, and were willing to work with me in any; way, shape or form possible.

I can’t say enough about working with these folks. They made the buying process very easy, arranged everything in a timely and thorough way, and always kept me posted on the progress of my order. Plus they saved me thousands of dollars on my purchase.

P.S. I'm a finance professional and getting the most from my money is a way of life.

We are enjoying our new trailer. The Chevy Tahoe does a very good job as a tow vehicle for this light weight trailer. Thanks for the excellent job that you did in handling our sale. I’ve already recommended you to others.

We purchased a Rockwood F2150 from you last April.. We picked it up at the factory and then camped 13 days back to California. It was a great trip and we are glad we made that decision. The saved destinations charge paid for our trip almost exactly, including the motels getting there, gas, food, camping fees, and attractions we visited. Since then we have really enjoyed the F2140, camping in Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Monterey and Henry Cowell. The size and floor plan are perfect for us. I am so thankful it is no bigger because so many places in California are old campgrounds with small sites. I have attached three photos. We are also very happy with our Tundra and the Pull-rite super slide hitch – they are a matched triplet and I do not thank there is any better rig. More than once people have asked about our rig and I have given out your name.
Thanks for a good experience,

Bob Wells in Morgan Hill,  CA

Barry and I picked up the Big Mr. “C” this morning. The Dutchman 31P is everything we expected and then some.   We would like to say a “BIG Thank You” for all your efforts in making our “Dream Camper” come through. You are definitely an Outstanding Leader that works very hard to make things happen accurately and speedy. We will definitely advertise your company’s products and services.

RVDirect is formerly RVOne out of Albany, New York. I received delivery of my Jayco 305BHS on June 30th. It was far better than the dealerships. It seems most of the dealerships I’ve dealt with do sales the old fashion way, start heal high and spend loads of time haggling. RVDirect was no hassle, here’s the unit, add your options and this is the price, nothing hidden. During my search for a 5er I read months worth of posts on this forum and knew how much people were paying for the unit. My price was equal to slightly lower than any of the posts and was actually $4,000 less than the dealership I started the process with. They delivered on time and were extremely thorough during the inspection and actually made minor adjustments, like adding extra hangers to the water pipes underneath just because we felt they had too much give. For me it was a 3 ½ hour ride to their facility. We have put of 1300 miles on the unit and have not had to “tweek” anything, that’s probably just good luck I just threw out the window.

I hope this may help. Just an FYI I would have been happy to write a bad reply if they didn’t exceed my expectations.

Good Luck and Happy Camping

I purchased my RV through RVDirect.. I believe I saved over $5,000 from what I would have paid had I bought from a local dealer. I am 100% satisfied.

1) I agree that no one buys without looking first. I went to look at my two local and unrelated dealers first and in fact gave them the first shot. I believe in supporting businesses in one’s own community. However, both strongly discouraged custom orders and neither would quote me a price for such an order until I was ready to buy right on the spot. I would never do that. The best price efficiency for the consumer comes from shopping around, which the dealers were trying to prevent. The closest I could get was to talk price with one of them on a unit from the previous model year, and even that unit was still over $3,000 more (adjusted for different options) than I paid for a current model from RVDirect with options chosen by me. Bottom line: I disagree with MBGOVE…Competition and innovation are at the core of capitalism. I can assure you, if there weren’t people like RVDirect, there dealers would collude to price fix (their mutual refusal to provide pricing for a custom order is certainly indicative of that). In the long run, RVDirect is helping people like MBGOVE who choose to buy from their local dealer to get their RV’s for less.

2) Prep is indeed an important issue. If you contact RVDirect, they absolutely will explain how they do it. I opted for factory pickup, and the factory did the prep. But either way RVDirect insures that you end up with a perfect unit.

3)I agree that you do get lower priority service. I didn’t even take my Jayco in for anything for anything for the first 9 months (other than some ford items, which of course went to the Ford dealer). It took me that long to come up with a list of items to fix because the Jayco is a quality product. When you order a custom Jayco, the factory people know they are building it for a specific individual rather than just some dealer’s lot, which may help on the quality side – my unit was nearly perfect. Everything that needed repair/adjustment was extremely minor. When I called my local dealer (one of the two who had rebuffed me originally), they asked me if I purchased from them, I told them no that I bought it out of state, and they offered me a date that was a bit over 2 weeks out. I don’t consider that to be a big delay. There’s no guarantee your local dealer will take you in some worst case time frame, they just tell you they will make you a priority. And, in fairness, if you need service in 3 days on a regular basis, it may be worth paying several thousand dollars extra to get that (assuming they’ll make good on it.) My entire list was fixed under warranty, with a smile, sticky drawers and all. Plus, as the stream points out, at least with Jayco, you can use independent shops to do warranty work. There shops do not prioritize their sales customers because they don’t sell. Finally, let’s say you need 10 hours of initial repairs that aren’t covered by warranty (and pretty much everything is, so I view this as somewhat absurd, so as MBGOVE points out, your local dealer won’t do them. At $100 per hour, I’d still be $2,000-$4,000 better off.

4) In my experience, RVDirect is the paragon of honest. Since they sell online, they have to be. Otherwise they’d get flamed on this forum so fast they’d be out of business. Try to find one post from a dissatisfied customer. Now look again for posts from people in your area who have bad sales and/or service experiences with local dealers. The forum is littered with them.

In the end, everyone has to decide for themselves what they are comfortable with. Everyone has different experiences with local dealers, some great, some awful. Whenever I buy a big ticket item, I do my homework to check out who I’m buying from, how much cheaper it is, and whether that value proposition is favorable. For me it was RVDirect and I’d do it again in a second. Your mileage may vary, but if you choose to go the same route, I’m 100% confident you’ll be satisfied too.

Recently purchased 2004 32RLTS designer from RVDirect formerly Albany RV. So far so good, received great price better than any local dealer. Only problem has been delivery time was extended another month due to 32RLTS line at Factory

"I also bought through RVDirect -- and the savings were significant. I had visited my nearest dealer prior to RVD....this guy told me they didn't do service....go to GM for front and the applicable manufacturer for the item needing repaired. Having heard that, I went to RVDirect -- fantastic experience and big savings. Have needed work exactly twice -- both times on the road -- no problems. Think positive -- if you can save that much money -- how much is your local dealer making?? Anyway, the money is really made in the bay area - so they won't reject much work."

"We saved about 26% Off MSRP buying our Jayco from RVDirect."

"I had a sales guy tell me that if I bought from RVDirect they would not touch my warranty work and he went on to sing the blues about how much money he lost on warranty. As noted, I found the savings too much to pass up. Last year when I had minor warranty work I brought my FW to another dealer - closer to my house actually and the service manager immediately asked if I bought it there. I'm think uh-oh... when I said "no" he said "I'm sorry it will take me a couple minutes to get you into our computer then, can I have your address and phone number please?"

"We considered buying from you but we were pressured by the local dealer saying if we did we wouldn’t get good service. So we purchased locally feeling forced to. Yet we’ve have never been "at the top of the list" for warranty work, it was weeks for a crappy caulk job, now we do our own repairs. $20K is a huge savings, you could PAY for repairs and still be ahead. (Wished we bought from RVDirect)."
– Janice, Flint MI

"We've never had a problem getting our RV serviced while we're on the road -- even in Alaska. We've never once been asked if we bought our RV there before they decided to do the servicing."
